Overview
3PE‑coated steel pipe is a high‑performance composite pipeline designed for long‑term underground and subsea service. Its three‑layer polyethylene coating creates a robust protective barrier that resists corrosion, mechanical damage, and environmental aging, making it the preferred choice for oil, natural gas, water supply and drainage, and various industrial piping applications worldwide.
Structure and Composition
The 3PE coating system consists of a three-layer integrated composite coating, with each layer serving a distinct function:
Fusion‑bonded epoxy (FBE) primer (thickness > 100 µm)
The innermost layer exhibits exceptionally strong adhesion to the steel pipe substrate, forming a chemically resistant base that prevents rust formation at its source.
Copolymer adhesive interlayer (thickness 170–250 microns)
